Curious to know what Freud might say? Explore the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mental health with Jodi Geis-Crowder! Participants will define Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it is being used in Chatbots and phone apps as a primary therapist, discuss the ethical considerations that apply to the use of AI as a behavioral health care option, noting they are not regulated by licensing boards codes of ethics, but rather an AI Value Platform Policy Statement. We'll also examine the importance of mandatory disclosure regarding clients seeking services while utilizing adjunct AI, and the importance of working with a clinical supervisor/ clinical consultant and an information technology expert to navigate the clinical waters and to protect professional liability will also be discussed.

About the Presenter

Jodi Geis-Crowder, LPC, ACS

Jodi is a dual-licensed Professional Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor (CCE/NBCC), and certified professional coach with 27 years of experience in behavioral health, clinical supervision, and rural service innovation across Colorado and Wyoming. Her continuing education trainings blend clinical depth with creative engagement, focusing on ethics, telehealth, clinical supervision, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, trauma-informed care (including Polyvagal Theory and somatic practices), couples and family therapy, the human-animal bond, and underserved, rural behavior health. Jodi also provides cutting edge training around the ethical
use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in documentation.
Jodi pioneered animal-assisted therapy and therapeutic horticulture in community behavioral health settings, where she also served as clinician, program manager, and regional clinical director. Currently, Jodi is a clinical supervisor and educator with Volunteers of America Northern Rockies, and leads professional education, consultation, and coaching through JGC Enterprises, LLC. Jodi was selected for the American Counseling Association Supervision Course Curriculum Development subgroup in 2025. She is also a professional watercolor artist and photographer.
