Biography
Joseph Wilner, MA, LCP is a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist (LCP) in the state of Kansas, and board certified coach (BCC). He is passionate about helping people grow, heal, and create a fulfilling and meaningful life, and has over 15 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and families in community mental health centers, juvenile corrections, inpatient psychiatric facilities, and private practice. His education includes a Masters in Counseling Psychology from the University of Saint Mary and a Masters in Liberal Arts with a Concentration in Management and Leadership from Baker University. He received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas. As a psychotherapist he often integrates mindfulness and meditation into his work with clients, and utilizes a strengths-based approach incorporating principles from solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. He has training in mindfulness-based stress reduction, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and has completed a certification as a meditation instructor through The American Institute of Health Care Professionals. He is also a member of the American Mindfulness Research Association (AMRA) and the Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness (MAM).
